What is-agentic publishing means for a product directory
SSR, markdown negotiation, llms.txt, robots, JSON-LD, and the refusals we copied on purpose.
is-agentic is a floor for pages that want to be used by models as well as people: SSR HTML with a real H1, enough prose to be a source, heading order, markdown on Accept, real 404 and 410, llms.txt, robots that do not ban AI crawlers, sitemaps, JSON-LD, a well-known catalog, an API with problem+json, developer resources named as developer resources, canonicals and social meta in the first HTML, semantic markup, and feeds.
This directory implements that floor on two hostnames.
What we implemented on purpose
Server-rendered pages. Skip links. Labels on every form control. Alt is less relevant because we lead with type, not stock photos. Security headers in next.config. RSS and Atom. OpenAPI. RFC 9457 on missing slugs. Retired slugs return 410. Markdown negotiation skips when RSC headers are present so the Next.js client does not break.
llms.txt states when to use us and when not. Google Search ignores llms.txt (confirmed 2026); we still ship it for other systems. robots.txt allows Googlebot, GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, Applebot, and Bingbot. We do not blanket-disallow AI.
GEO without gimmicks
Answer in the first 40 to 60 words. Named authors. Dates. Original research. No orphan pages: every product links alternatives, category, rubric, and twin. Core Web Vitals targets are LCP under 2.5s, INP under 200ms, CLS under 0.1 — we design for them with server HTML and no layout-shifting hero carousel.
We do not buy citations. We do not write recommendation-poisoning listicles. The spam policy since 15 May 2026 is about purpose. Our purpose is a catalog.
Two visual identities
The people site is a paper magazine: cream, rust, forest, serif headlines. The agents site is a phosphor terminal: charcoal, green, mono. They share a graph and refuse generic purple gradients. That is not a branding flourish for its own sake; it is how a human knows they are not in the API docs, and how an agent knows it is not in a lifestyle blog.
Developer resources are a place, not a footer link
The page is titled Build Something Agents Want developer resources. llms.txt points at it. That satisfies the letter of the requirement and the spirit: a model should not have to guess which URL is the machine hub.
Limits we accept
We did not fake Streamable HTTP MCP. We did not wait for secrets to render the catalog. Seed JSON is committed. Supabase is the later source of truth for profiles, pending reviews, and admin, with RLS as specified. Until keys land, signup explains that. Honesty is a feature.
If you copy this architecture, copy the refusals too. A markdown endpoint that 200s a hallucination is worse than a 404.
